Welcome to Word Bomb! These Terms of Service govern your use of our game. By playing, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1.Acceptance of Terms

By playing Word Bomb — whether through our website or as a Discord Activity — you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree with any part of these terms, please don’t use the game. Continued use means you accept these terms, including any future updates.

2.Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to play Word Bomb. If you’re under 18 (or your region’s age of majority), a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.

3.Community Guidelines

We want Word Bomb to be fun for everyone. Please:

Play fairly and honestly
Be respectful to other players
Don’t use cheats, bots, or exploits
Don’t harass, spam, or disrupt gameplay
Don’t attempt unauthorized access to our systems

Breaking these rules may result in warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans. We’ll do our best to be fair, but we reserve the right to make final decisions about what counts as a violation.

4.Game Content and Features

About game ownership: Word Bomb is in active development, and we’re constantly improving it. All game features, items, and content (like syllables, themes, discoveries, bombs, achievements, and leaderboard positions) are part of the game service we provide. They don’t have real-world monetary value and can’t be sold or traded for real money.

As we develop the game, we may need to adjust, rebalance, or change features. We’ll try to avoid major disruptions, but sometimes changes are necessary for game health and balance. Since the game is still evolving, we can’t guarantee all features will remain exactly as they are.

Community content: We love seeing the community create tools and content around Word Bomb! You’re welcome to use our visual and sound assets for non-commercial fan projects. If you want to use them commercially, please reach out for permission.

5.Privacy and Data

Your privacy matters to us. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect and use data. By playing Word Bomb, you agree to our data practices, including the way we work with volunteer moderators to keep the game safe and fair.

6.Service Availability

We provide Word Bomb “as is” and work hard to keep it running smoothly. However, like any online service, we can’t guarantee it will always be available or error-free. There may be downtime for maintenance, unexpected technical issues, or bugs we’re working to fix. We’re not liable for any disruptions to your gameplay.

7.Limitation of Liability

Important legal information: To the extent permitted by law, Word Bomb and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the game.

This includes things like:

Loss of game progress or virtual items
Service interruptions or technical issues
Actions of other players or third parties
Security incidents or data issues
Decisions or actions by volunteer moderators

If we are found liable for anything, our total liability is limited to $100 USD or the amount you’ve paid us in the past 12 months (if any), whichever is less. Word Bomb is free to play, so this is mainly a legal formality.

8.Dispute Resolution

How we handle disputes: If you have a problem or complaint, please reach out to us through Discord first. We’re happy to work with you to resolve issues.

For legal disputes that can’t be resolved informally, you agree that disputes will be handled through individual arbitration rather than court lawsuits or class actions. This means:

Disputes are resolved one-on-one, not as part of a class action
A neutral arbitrator will hear both sides
The process is typically faster and less expensive than court
You waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits

This applies to all disputes, including those related to privacy, data security, or any other aspect of the game. For users in the United States, arbitration follows the Federal Arbitration Act and American Arbitration Association rules. International users will use a similar arbitration process appropriate to their location.

9.Account Termination

We hope you enjoy Word Bomb for a long time! However, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or for other legitimate reasons. If your account is terminated, you lose access to any associated progress or items.

10.Intellectual Property

Word Bomb, including all its content, graphics, code, and features, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You can’t copy, modify, or redistribute our content without permission, except as allowed for non-commercial fan content as mentioned above.

11.Volunteer Contributions

We’re incredibly grateful for our volunteers — Word Bomb wouldn’t be what it is without you! If you choose to volunteer for Word Bomb in any capacity (moderation, development, design, testing, content creation, or anything else), any work, content, code, or assets you create as part of your volunteer role becomes the property of Word Bomb and its operators.

This means we can continue using, modifying, and building on your contributions even after your volunteer role ends, so the project keeps moving forward. By volunteering, you agree to assign all rights to your contributions to Word Bomb. Of course, we’ll always appreciate what you’ve done and you’re welcome to mention your involvement in your portfolio or resume.

12.Third-Party Services

Word Bomb is available on the web and as a Discord Activity, and may integrate with other third-party services. These services have their own terms and policies. We’re not responsible for how third-party services operate, but we choose our partners carefully.

13.Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the game or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we’ll let you know through Discord or in-game. Continuing to play after changes means you accept the updated terms.

14.Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Word Bomb’s operators are located. Any legal proceedings or arbitration will take place in that jurisdiction.

16.Miscellaneous

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, represent the complete agreement between you and Word Bomb. Our failure to enforce any provision doesn’t mean we waive the right to enforce it later.
